Ideas For a Romantic Campout

Going on a campout for just the two of you can be the most romantic experience ever - or it can turn into your worst nightmare and wreck a relationship. The trick to a terrific and sizzling campout is to plan correctly for it. That means making a list, checking it twice and getting so enthused that your partner catches the enthusiasm.

The first part of planning your romantic campout is to choose a location. Depending on where you are, that could be easy or tricky. Do some research and find the most enjoyable countryside drive you can - one that you'll "Oh....and Ah" about on the way to your destination. If you're staying in a state park, take note of the hours, facilities, restrictions and anything else that may enhance or put a damper on your trip.

If you can find a location that has a great view, you're ahead of the game. It can be on a bluff overlooking the great outdoors, next to a lake or the ocean - or in the middle of the forest. Just be sure there are fellow campers nearby - but not too close. After you've chosen the perfect location, it's time to plan what you're going to take. Some amenities that are sure to impress and ensure that your campout is the romantic dream you want it to be are:

* Comfy bedding - A sleeping bag isn't enough. Wow your partner with bedding fit for royalty - satin sheets, down comforters and a mattress that will make her want to linger in bed the next morning. You may even want to bring some rose petals to sprinkle on top of the bedding to create a super-romantic atmosphere. * Romantic meals - Plan your meals carefully. Be sure you include appetizers like cheeses and fruit. Consider bringing a portable grill if the park doesn't furnish one - and marinate some steaks or prepare food so that it will be ready when you're ready to cook. And don't forget the wine! * Candles to set the mood - Place candles everywhere - around the bed and on the table or surface where you're going to eat dinner. Candles are incredibly romantic. * Activities - If you're going to be there for more than one day, plan hiking trips to discover what nature has to offer. Come prepared by reading about the area to find places and other things of interest. Don't forget your IPod and load it with some romantic music so you and your partner can dance by firelight. Card or board games and some reading material ensure that you won't be bored.

Don't forget essentials, like toiletries and materials to make a great bonfire. A romantic campout can be an inexpensive and exciting way to connect with the one you love. It can also be a sensual journey that you'll both enjoy - if you plan it correctly.
